Affordable Spay/Neuter Clinics

Our affordable spay/neuter clinics are held “on location” throughout San Diego County via the Mobile Surgical Unit, the Neuter Scooter. All operations on the Neuter Scooter are performed under the highest standards by licensed veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians. In addition to a discounted procedure underwritten by donors, pets from targeted communities also free basic pet care services such as a pre-anesthesia exam and nail trim at time of surgery. Clients receive results of the pre-exam of their pet and take home post-op documents.

The surgical suite is equipped with all the necessary equipment, including built-in kennels for recovery from anesthesia. For even more comfort, our bus is air-conditioned and heated. View the Bus/Clinic Schedule »

Microchipping

When you get your pet spayed or neutered with us, we can add in a microchip implant for an additional $10.
Get the facts about microchipping »

Why get your pet microchipped?
• Pets can wander off and get lost. When found, they’ll be scanned for a microchip!
• Pets sometimes get stolen – the microchip will prove you’re the pet’s owner.
• What if something happens to you? Your pet will be in good hands.

SNAP will register your microchip for you, based on the information you provide. If you need to change your address or update your pet’s medications, etc., click the link below!

NEW Neuter Scooter

PetSmart Charities gave us a rare opportunity to get a second bus on the road, by funding half of the cost of the NEW Neuter Scooter, in the amount of $145,000. Thanks to our donors and sponsors, the NEW bus is a reality!

The Original Neuter Scooter

After 17 years of dutiful service, the old bus is servicing East County residents at a stationary location in El Cajon – thanks to the generosity of All God’s Creatures Teaching Hospital.

SNAP Goes the Distance

Maryann’s Mission

SNAP pays tribute to the memory of Maryann Stanco, long-time SNAP team member who worked tirelessly to schedule pets on the bus, by carrying on her legacy of helping senior pet owners struggling financially. Seniors 65 and over living on fixed incomes, are eligible to receive a discount on the already low-cost procedure of their companion animal.

Saving Feral Cats from euthanasia, while supporting the community requires innovative approaches. We have completely raised the bar to what’s possible. We are the first to create and build a feral cat sanctuary on the grounds of a senior living facility.

Become a Loyal Life Saver

As a Loyal Lifesaver, you become part of the solution to reduce pet overpopulation and the suffering that follows, in some of the most underserved communities in San Diego County. The problem of surplus animals is prevalent to these areas, because income-challenged pet owners who otherwise love their pets, do not have the financial means to spay or neuter. Your monthly donation is a way to help us get more cats and dogs on board the Neuter Scooter surgical bus, to not only prevent the birth of unwanted litter after litter but also improve quality of life by no longer dealing with the negative consequences of remaining intact. For many, this is their first exposure to any kind of veterinary care, and all of this is made possible because of you.
